Once added to a hosting package, an alias domain (or parked domain) will load the same content as the primary domain it was added to. In conclusion, accessing an alias domain will display the website associated with the primary domain of the hosting.

An alias domain can be redirected to another IP (belonging to another server) by modifying the DNS zone. This option is useful if you want the alias to load a website hosted on another server.

An alias domain can benefit from the following functionalities:

  • Custom DNS zone.
  • Custom DNS records.
  • Email boxes associated with the alias name.

For more details about adding a parked domain in the cPanel control panel, you can access the guide: Adding parked/domain alias.
